A SLEEK DESIGN, WITH SUPER-SIMPLE EASE OF USE!
This is an entry-level unit that comes with a powerful and useful feature - it can be set to go into a low-power state to conserve battery life, only to trigger a recording when sound happens in the area! Our new USB Flash Drive Voice Recorder has great voice activation, able to pick up sound within approximately 30-40 feet in optimal conditions. New features to the date and time stamping program allow you to adjust the sensitivity of the voice activation mode ( VOS ), enabling you to only trigger on quieter sounds in some situations, or louder sounds in others. A continuous battery supply of 15-18 hours translates to 25 days of potential standby time in sound activated mode in this low-power state, which means you'll have to recharge it plenty of times to max out the 8GB, 144 hour storage capacity, but it'll only take about 2-3 hours from a dead battery.
How does the USB Flash Drive Recorder work?
Charging the unit is a simple matter, as it is designed and operates just like a normal USB memory drive, so go ahead and plug it into a computer or USB wall charger for about 2-3 hours while being turned off. A red light will show while charging, and will start blinking when finished.
While plugged into a computer, you can review your files by simply finding the memory drive and double-clicking your files, or delete them by sending them to your recycle or trash bins ( Mac users, be sure to also delete from your trash, otherwise the files will remain on the unit and eat up memory space ). We recommend using VLC Media Player or your standard player. On a Windows computer ( only, sorry, Mac users ), you can open the "Time Setup" program to set the date and time of future recordings and adjust the sound activation sensitivity to your desired setting.
A simple click to either side of a wheel at the base of the sound recorder will enable either continuous recording ( - ) or voice activation ( -- ), with the middle position being the off position. You can either record continuously until the battery is depleted or use the VOS mode to trigger only when a sound occurs, offering up to 25 days of standby time if no noise is heard. You may also plug the VOS recorder into a turned-on computer or USB wall charger while turned on to record until the memory becomes full, though this will not charge the battery while doing so. A little notch in the wheel helps to determine which mode you've clicked it to. When turned on, a light will appear above the USB terminal for the first few seconds to indicate the battery life remaining and then it will disappear, with a solid light showing 70-100% left, blinking indicating it has 30-70% life, and no light showing says it has between 0-30% battery. Please keep it in mind, a covered up recorder will get muffled sounds, and not every situation is optimal for every VOS sensitivity level.
Why choose this USB Recorder?
While not the longest-lasting audio recorder we carry, it is a fantastic entry-level device that was designed with the user in mind. Ease-of-use was the point to be made on the drawing board for this VOS audio recorder. With all the little features, plus the ability for date and time stamping of the files and a long standby time for voice activation, this stops feeling so much like an entry-unit, and more like the top of the line.

Q: How long should I charge the battery?
A: Take it off charge after about 2 to 3 hours to fully charge and to protect battery quality.
Q: How long does the VOS standby let the unit record for?
A: The USB thumb drive recorder still only has 15-18 hours of use, spread out over a potential 25 days of standby time if no noise triggers a recording. The total amount of recording time left decreases the longer the device is left in VOS mode.
Q: How can I tell which mode I'm switching to?
A: On the face of the recorder, next to the half-wheel switch, are two indicators: a long dash for continuous, and a double-dot for voice activation, with the notch of the wheel pointing straight out to indicate the off position.
Q: How do I set the Time and Date on a Windows computer?
A: Plug your device into your Windows computer. A removable desktop folder should pop up. Click open the folder to view the files. At the top of this page is a support section, download the Date & Time Setup File - Windows file and put it in the root directory.
A new window will open, click the start button to set your date and time. This will create a date and time config file. Disconnect the device from the PC and take a moment to make a 30 second audio clip. Once you have completed making your audio clip plug it back into the computer, go to your voice folder and ensure the time and date are correct on the file name, if not repeat this step once more to ensure the time and date took.
Q: Can I set the time on a Mac computer?
A: Unfortunately, the program for date/time stamping of the files does not work on a Mac.
Q: How can I tell when its fully charged?
A: There will be a red light that will be solid while it charges, then it will start to blink when it has reached full power.
Q: What is the recommended program for playback?
A: A simple to use and free-to-download program that works with Mac computers as well as Windows PC's is VLC Media Player.
Q: What if, when I plug it into my computer, a pop up does not show to bring me to the files?
A: For a Windows PC, type "computer" into the search bar located at or near the Start menu. This will bring up the File Explorer with "MEMOQ" being listed under "This PC," which contains all your files. For a Mac computer you'll do the same thing but using the Finder app.
